WTB C2 65 Power Antenna
I am looking for an antenna for my 1965 Roadster. Saw a few on EBay but the prices were unreal.
Prefer original but I may have to purchase aftermarket.

Once I saw prices like $800 for a non working core, and $1,200 for a rebuild power antenna, I rebuilt my original one. It was easier than I thought. But if you don't have any core, you might just want to buy the repro if you're not going for an NCRS Top Flight. They just lack the groove on each antenna mast and the acorn tip isn't quite right.
Original 1966 power antenna - grooves on each mast section and correct acorn tip

That was $550 WITH his core rebuilt. The OP doesn't have one. So he can double that cost.
I'm not going to knock a guy with little competition trying to earn a living, but once Greg looked at excellent close up pics of my original power antenna (apart), he told me that the teeth on my drive gear looked "cupped", and that it would cost me $400.to rebuild. With that quote, looking at a perfectly preserved antenna, with no rusted or broken parts, I decided to try it myself. A tube of silicone grease and adjustment of the drive cable on the spool was all it took. I saved that $400 and felt good about doing it myself. And yes, I also dipped it. Still NCRS Top Flight quality, without being over restored.

65 Corvette Antenna
Hi, I do have a great working OEM Vette antenna. I would also consider a 1965 OEM grille in good shape for a trade. What price range are you wanting to spend?

I just emailed Greg about his rebuilds and the antennas that he sells outright for $600, which is a great price. And the close up pics are a dead ringer for my original. I just had to find out where he found these parts, to which he responded "I fabricate the masts and tips identical to the originals. Some internal parts are remanufactured but perform the same as the original." Since they aren't original GM factory parts, I was concerned about NCRS acceptance, to which he responded "Talk to the 66 or 65 NCRS team leaders on the antenna quality. People that spend $1100 for antennas are I'll informed. Guaranteed to meet all NCRS criteria for Flight and PV. I've been selling these for 12 years. So it is money well spent, especially looking at those clean, dead on internal parts (and his guarantee). It will only bother those who know that most of the parts didn't come from St. Louis. But neither did our tires, batteries, or fan belts.

I rebuilt my 66 antenna about 30 years ago, and always wondered what they dip it in to make that seal stuff. Tell you one thing....it's hell to peel it all off.
I'll have a look to see if it's still in the garage. I got so tired of a-holes snapping off the mast and replacing it that I put a manual one on it that retracted into the body. Problem solved.
