WANTED! 65 oil pan....
Hello gents,
Currently searching for an oil pan for my 65. It is equipped with a 327/350hp and power steering. I believe the G.M. # is 359942 and the pan to be a 5 quart capacity. any leads would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time. Glen

glen ..
I just bought my 5-quart pan on ebay. They come up fairly often so you might check there. The production pans from '63-'74 are all the same, I believe. The '942' part number you described is the over-the-counter 5-quart pan that has the larger front pan seal radius.

Re: WANTED! 65 oil pan.... (TOM65 L76 96 LT1)
Nice looking pan and would probably work well, but it's not a 'real' Corvette oil pan. C2 Corvette oil pans have the drain plug located in the rear of the oil pan. Side or front drain plug oil pans fit everything else. I have seen several instances, on ebay, of guys trying to pawn off oil pans as being 'corvette' pans. The only proof needed is the rear drain plug. I emailed one guy about his 'corvette' oil pan he listed on ebay. His reply .. ? .. "It appears to be a 5 quart pan" .. Hello .. ? .. He didn't respond to the second email I sent. Just have to watch some of these folks .. ! . .

Thanks for the info on the drain plug for "Covette" oil pans,i had no idea that the drain plug was in the back on only Corvettes,i just assumed that the oil pans on all the 283/327CI engines were all the same with the only difference being 5 or 6 qts capacity Take care Tom
