Default FS: 1966 Corvette Convertible 327/350HP Matching #s

Beautiful Red 1966 Corvette Convertible. This is a matching numbers car with the original block, transmission, and rear end. Has a stout 327ci/350 HP coupled to a Muncie 4 speed and a 3.73 rear end that runs very well. Solid, no rust frame. Body is in excellent condition with glossy paint (does have a few minor flaws). Interior is very nice with no rips or tears. There are many new/reproduction parts installed in the past couple of years (have receipts from 2011 to present), listed below. This '66 is mostly stock with the exception of the soft top (which is cloth--Al Knoch top still in box included), a rear mono spring in place of the multi-leaf spring, and bilstein shocks instead of AC Delco. All old parts I replaced are included if wanted (multi-leaf spring can be refurbished to original). Various manuals/books are included if wanted.

This '66 looks, drives, runs great, and most everything works. However, there are a few things that are a little less than perfect (nothing major):

Some blemishes/hairline cracks in paint
Vent window frames and rear brake light surrounds have some pitting in the chrome
Chrome around front windshield has some dings and nicks
Window felt/rubber is worn
Chrome bumpers have minor scratches
Driver side headlight bucket sticks and won't go all the way up (will go all the way down though)
Both headlight buckets need to be restored
Temp gauge in dash works sporadically
Trip odometer is inop

My price is $58,500, however it is negotiable.

Default Options and location

Hi John

Where is the car located and what options came with it when new? How many owners did it have? Was it originally red? Thanks

Hello Tim, It is currently in Missouri and I am not sure of how many owners. Mostly stock as came from the factory (350HP, 4 speed, AM/FM radio with power antenna were options) except for a few items listed in the main post. It is the original red (repainted about 9 years ago per previous owner) with black interior listed on the tag. Anymore questions please let me know.

Ok thanks, I see it has side exhaust and knockoff wheels as other options, just wondered if it had power steering.

I like it!

I did forget the side exhaust which I believe to be original from what I can tell, but the knock offs aren't original so not sure if it did have them as an option from the factory. Unfortunately, the only thing power is the radio antenna and the engine

Thanks for you interest.

Or fortunately, depending on your preference. Less stuff to break.

This looks like a very nice car.

Very nice looking car, good luck with sale. If it's original rear, it must be 3:70.

You are correct. It is 3:70 rear. Not sure where I came up with 3:73. Must be fat fingers Thanks for pointing that out to me.

Default Noticed you have a C6 too

I keep getting the itch for a C2 vert especially when I see one as nice as this one. My dilemma is I only can justify one vette at my house. I currently drive a C6 vert with 20k miles on it and only put about 2k a year on it. So I noticed you have a C6 in your avatar and choose to sell that great looking C2. What made you choose it? I know there is no comparison in the drive quality, performance and reliability. But I thought the fun factor may be more on the C2.

I have both a C2 and C6 and like driving and looking at each in it's own way. Can't tell you there is anything similar about them except the color and that's identical.

Wow!! Nice pair. I figure if you like the c2 as much as the zr1 then the c2 would be much more fun than my 05 vert.

If you are only driving the C6 2K miles a year... I don't think you would miss it amongst the smiles, thumbs ups and attention this smokin' hot 66 would get you.

But if you don't like being in the limelight, and reminiscing with everyone who stops to talk to you, and have everyone constantly watching your car go by... its not the car for you.

(if you are in the witness protection program, you are legally not allowed to own a C2) Yeah, I think that is a law...

Nothing better than a '66 L79 with pipes and knock-offs. GLWS

This forum is the best! A marketplace for knowledgeable enthusiasts where I sold a mint C4 and later bought my beautiful 67 coupe. I like the overall level of integrity demonstrated by owners posting their cars for sale within this community. Congratulations to both seller and buyer!
