Default 66 Corvette Project Scam Craigslist

Ran across this today. Thought I would share. Seems like I saw this car posted on the forum. No affiliation just passing along info.

The guy that posted this scam alert was a victim and he has found many others through this ad, fyi.

He tells the story of a barn find, and bought it from an older woman, and he has access to a full collection of vettes, but has to sell this one for 10K to get access to the others.

I seem to be finding that everytime a car is a great price, it is a scam! There is also a 13k 69 427/435 that says he is moving and it is with the shipping company.

I guess there are no deals!

Default 66 Corvette on Craigslist

A friend in NY was scammed by this guy for a $500 deposit. The scammer said he was in Alabama.

I will pass this along to him. It just always proves that you or an inspector has to physically see a car in person before any money changes hand.

I guess there is so much scam traffic that police and or federals don't have the time or resoruces to bust guys like this. Seems they could answer the add wire the guy 100 dollars to Walmart and then pick him up when he claims the money. I have his cell phone number

don't have time or resources, that's funny. you think the feds or local LE care? they think people who fall for these scams are stupid. when was the last time you heard of someone going to jail for a scam? probably only time when some person with a little power gets scammed, then maybe wheels will turn. otherwise, forget it. this is the world we live in. damn shame.

Seem like this fellow has no manners. When he comes to claim the $, he should meet "Bubba" and learn how to live with two broken arms.
What goes around comes around. Some day he will f^&K the wrong person and find out. it is only a matter of time.

Problem is there are a ton of Walmarts and Western Unions. If its to good to be true, its probably a scam. I always ask an easy question. How many of you guys couldnt sell a car that cheap to anyone close? Why would you need to post it long distance? Its because they know you are far and greed will kick in.

If you can't see it and touch it then don't send any money for it.
