F/S 1966 Corvette Big-Block Coupe with Numbers Matching Engine St.Louis Area
Up for sale is a 1966 numbers matching Big-Block coupe with a 1967 Stinger hood. The car is not restored but a sharp driver. Restoring has been a work in progress for the past 3 owners. Car was gelcoated and repainted 2002 Corvette Torch Red. Interior was started but stopped short of completion. Dash cluster and console are tired and need attention. Tachometer is incorrect and ammeter does not work but the rest of the gauges are operational. Headlights, tail lights, turn signals, brake lights, and parking lights work.
Engine is original to the car, L-36 427/390 rated HP. Transmission is the 4-speed Muncie close-ratio. Rear end Positraction either doesn't work or has been changed. Engine has not been rebuilt but pulled and repainted and correct parts added or replaced. Full details can be e-mailed upon request. Car has Willcox "quiet" sidepipes with aftermarket covers. Wheels are Corvette America bolt-on knock-offs with B.F.Goodrich white letter Radial T/A tires.
The car is mechanically sound but not perfect but most of what remains is cosmetic. With the drive train having been gone through, redone engine and good paint, this car makes an excellent driver. Asking $54k OBO. Full details about what's been done to the car and what remains are available. E-mail with questions or specific photo requests, guderian@hometel.com. Car is available for inspection in the St.Louis area 7 days a week.
