Looked at the car on Tuesday. The birdcage was perfect gave the car a full exam Rough around the edges. The peron representing the car didn't know much about the car. He was selling it for someone It's amazing what pictures show and what the actual eye sees. I appreciate the help. Perhaps I need to increase my budget or just be patient ?? Is my price range too low? I'm looking for a fully restored. I could perhaps live without a/c but definitely want side pipes and a big block.

You may want to check the Hagerty insurance valuation table. They give current values for classic cars. Also, NADA gives values for classic cars. Use these values as a starting point.

If you are looking for fully restored, but NOM, I think you are looking for minimum $75k with the AC. Good luck with the hunt.

Here's a restored 64 cpe with a/c. I've seen this car and it's pretty nice and well below your budget.
1/2 hour from you in NJ. No side pipes but with the $ you'll save you could add them.
