FS Documented 1964 Coupe
For Sale is a well-documented, number matching 1964 Corvette Coupe. The color is Satin Silver (code 940) with a Blue interior (code 490J). Options include: Powerglide Automatic Transmission, 300HP 327ci V8 engine, Positraction axle (336R), Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Windows, AM/FM Radio, Tinted Glass, White Sidewall Tires, and Back Up Lamps. I have the original window sticker from the car, as well as all the original dealer paperwork I have the original owners manual, owner protection plan, sales brochure, etc. There are a few receipts for work done over the years, but it is not a complete history. Everything works on the car including the power windows, the radio and the clock.
The car was built in May of 1964. The pad on the engine block is stamped F0505SD [F=Flint, 0505=May 5, SD=300 HP AT] plus the serial number. I have checked the casting numbers and date codes for the block, heads, manifolds, alternator, carb, etc. and all seem to be correct for the car. The date codes on all the glass appear to be correct.
The car was restored in the early 90's, and entered in several local California shows typically scoring 91-93 points. I have pictures of the body before repaint which show no signs of ever being in an accident. I bought the car in 1992, and it has been displayed in a private collection most of the time since in a heated and air conditioned facility. It was featured with a foldout in the September 1991 issue of Vette Vues magazine. The odometer says 9320, but I found a receipt for odometer repair, so true miles are unknown. As an added feature, the car has a beautiful teakwood steering wheel that I took off of a 1965 Corvette that I had before this '64. I try to always have at least one of each generation Corvette in my collection. I have had numerous C2 cars, but always kept this one due to the correctness of the car and the documentation. I was fortunate to recently acquire a correct, documented '67 427/435 coupe, so time to sell the '64.
This is a very nice car with great documentation. What does it need: - the front carpet is faded [rear ok], this seems to be very common in these cars - the rear bumpers could be rechromed - emblems could be freshened. Price is $39,500

congrats on your purchase. I was one of the many owners of this 64. I believe I was # 7 or # 8. it was back in the early 90's. I showed it many times. I even videod it on the way to 1 show when the odometer was turning over to 100K. the original window sticker, sales order, shipping docs etc. (not repro's) were from Nelson Chevrolet in Chicago. my last name is Nelson and I was from Chicago. I still have copies somewhere. it was ordered with black/white interior, but was shipped with dark blue. when I saw ALL the documentation I just had to have it. enjoy the corvette.

yes, without a doubt it's the same corvette. no, I was not related to the dealership. I just lived back there till 1983 and when i found the 64 out here in California i knew it was meant to be. it followed me out here. I went back to visit and looked up the dealership and it was gone. I was the owner who showed it and had it put in the September issue of vette views magazine. the editor put it in the September issue which is my birthday month. he loved the pics because he was in the navy and remembers sailing under the golden gate bridge back in the day. it was a very nice original car except for the 1 repaint as i remember...
