Default WTB: 57 corvette

Hi, seeing the large number of suggestions people provide to these WTB threads, I thought I'd test the waters.

I want to buy a 1957.

Must haves for me are:
- original, original, original, including original drivetrain
- no base engine cars
- 3 spd or 4 spd, no powerglide

Nice to haves:
- black car
- coves same color as car
- hard top
- high hp car
- frame off restored/NCRS judging

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, buying from Proteam is basically a deal killer for me.

Also, with that VIN, it's almost certainly not an original 4 spd car.

I have dealt with Gregg in the past and he is a good guy with very nice cars. So good avenue to pursue. Another thought would be to hook up with and NCRS member that receives the NCRS Driveline magazine with cars for sale in the classified ads. Although not always a guarantee in all cases, most of the cars for sale are by individuals that have either bought them restored or have in fact restored them themselves. More flexibility to negotiate pricing with individual as well.

I just checked the September issue of the Driveline and there are four black '57's listed for sale. I didn't spend the time looking for all of your desired criteria, but did see that none were base engine. All were either FI or 270hp and NCRS top flighted. Good luck.
