any opinions on this one? good ? Bad??
any ideas or opinion on this would be great, really appreciated,
this board seems like it has some really good members
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-Corvette-STINGRAY-1964-chevy-corvette-convertible-/271672191671?forcerrptr=true&hash=item3f40ecaab7&item=271672191671&pt=US_Cars_Trucks#ht_102wt_1153
I am looking for nice driver at close to fair value c1 0r C2, must be convertible, will to go to around 50k or so a real plus would be auto trans, as my wife is a helluva designated driver, and I would love to ride in my car as a passenger down the coast a bit liquored up!
any help would be great!! just sold my 67 RS SS Camaro convert and always wanted a Vette! I'm located on the beautiful lost coast of N. Cal
did anyone see the 64 in Denver for 15k????? I spoke to the seller and she is holding it for someone back east
seems way under valued,

Melting Slicks
Others who know a lot more than me will chine in....but just looking at it:
-Seller has a feedback of 1
-Pictures are of poor quality, and from so far away it's hard to tell anything
-no pictures of undercarriage
-no mention of birdcage
There is no way I would consider that car unless I could see it personally or have it inspected by someone who is knowledgeable.

I would pass on this car for many reasons. For your $50k budget, I know you can find many Automatic midyear convertibles that are stock, with original motors, etc.
I also suggest buying a car that is much closer to you in No. Cal., so that you can personally inspect it and take it for a spin.
Keep searching through:
Ebay
Hemmings: http://www.hemmings.com/ and
CarsOnLine: http://carsonline-ads.com/colsite/
Good luck in your search,
Steve

Personally I wouldn't spend 50K on a 1964.
For 50K you should be sitting in a 65,66 or 67 with a matching
Number small block.
Automatics are less desirable as a whole, which commands less money.
I would hold out and look for a clean 300hp auto possibly with AC
And preferably a 67.
Sit tight.
65-67 are 4 wheel disc, and side exhaust also first appeared in 65
Stay in the 65-67 cars for resale purposes.
Nothing wrong with 63 and 64 just not as desirable in the convertibles
My 2 cents.

Safety Car
It's not bad looking if you're looking for that type of car, but as others have pointed out, at close to $50K you would be paying top dollar for a NOM '64 automatic. You would definitely need more information… condition of the frame, birdcage, and body, is it an original black car, etc.
