this appears to be the car as described by Jim Gessner. Sounds like a pretty decent car.
"A good friend, Dean in FRESNO, California has his 66 big block convertible for sale. Original 427/390 engine, 4 speed, 3:36 posi, 2 top, Power steering, AM/FM, added side pipes. Driveline was rebuilt last summer about 400 miles ago. Engine is a ''IM'', California Smog, but missing all the smog parts. Also has a Rochester Q Jet. Runs and drives well. Convertible top was installed in October. Hard top had a sunroof installed in the 70's and is good for parts.
TRIM TAG, says Sunfire Yellow, black standard interior. Car was painted 1972 Bridgehampton blue and interior door panels and seat covers and carpet were dyed blue. Dash still original black.
OWNER purchased the car in 1982 in this condition, and the body and paint were as described. Owner is not computer savvy other than email. Finally had the car inspected and photographed on a rack Sunday Nov 30. There are some body damage issues repaired in the 70's that the owner just learned.
He has it listed for $49500. Nice rust free California chassis. Needs cosmetics. Send me a PM and I will send more, and hook you up directly
. I am trying to get him to join the forum, but he does not understand. NOT MY CAR, so I can't list it here or will violate rules."

Photos and more
As you can see, the car was painted 1972 BRYER BLUE, which was a dark blue color. Dean bought the car in 1982 from a used car dealer and has driven and enjoyed it since. The wheels are 1979 Z-28. The car had ''basket wires'' with chrome originally, and when the ''wires'' kept getting stolen at the bowling alley, Dean bought these non original knock off looking replacements. NOTE the 2 BAR SPINNERS !
The side pipes are not original to the car. Dean always thought they were until last week when the rear valance was inspected close and you can see where the bezzels were fiberglass covered up.
TRIPLE tail lights were also installed before Dean bought the car in 1982.
The front body has had some repair, and that occurred in the 70's PROBABLY when the car was color changed from yellow to blue.
The interior was black originally, and now is dyed blue. I have many more interior photos. NOTE the dash is original black, and in good condition.
The original engine pad stamps are here. T0223IM for Tonowanda, Feb. 23, 1966, ''IM'' for 427/390hp with K-19 California Smog. We do not know where the car was sold new, but the NCRS Shipping Doc service will confirm more than likely the Fresno area of central California. The VIN 6115xxx deritive is also clear on the pad. The engine was rebuilt last summer and about 400 miles of service has been enjoyed since. The car runs real strong.

Importing cars into Canada is not a problem.
The importer assuming is a Canadian needs to advise...U.S. Customs 72 hours in advance of the vehicle leaving the USA. The border crossing also needs to be specified. US Customs needs all documentation to verify vehicle is not stolen.
On the other side going into Canada all documentation is also required...BOS, title, etc etc.
Importer will pay provinvial sales tax and gst..example in Ontario 8% provincial sales tax and 5% goods and services tax = 13%
This tax is paid after conversion from US$ to CDN$.
This info is easily accessible on the Government of Canada website.

Additional info from EBay Ad:
I am listing this car for a friend in Fresno, California. Dean does not use a computer. He has owned this car since 1982. It runs and drives well. Originally, it was PAINT: SUNFIRE YELLOW, CODE #984, TRIM: STD, Built on G03 or March 3, 1966. Body #S4893. Years ago, it was painted a 1972 BRYER Blue, a dark blue color and the interior was dyed Nassau Blue.
The car has its ''ORIGINAL'' 427/390engine, stamped T0223IM 6115516, which equates to 427/390hp, manual trans, Californis Smog K-19. The smog pump and tubes and brackets are all missing. The ''ORIGINAL'' 4 speed trans, and ''ORIGINAL 3:36 Positraction differential are still in the car. Then the entire driveline was rebuilt last summer about 400 miles ago, and runs well.
Car has factory side pipes, but was NOT a SIDE PIPE car when new.
BODY; Car was damaged in the late 70's and has a front spindle clip fiberglass repair. Tripple tail lights were also installed
Right Rear fender and valance was damaged, and exhaust holes in valance have been filled and now repaired.
FRAME is California rust free and straight. Front exhaust cross over was damaged but does not affect frame integrity.
INTERIOR is the original black and dyed blue. Nice dash still black. Wheels are 1977 Z-28 CAMARO with three bar spinners.
My inspector friend Kevin who also lives in Fresno looked at the car on his hoist and then took it for a drive. He said do $15000- $20000 body and paint, chrome and interior and you will have a decent driver. If you afre handy, it will be a lot less. Engine compartment is new RATTLE CAN Black and needs to be corrected. HEAT CORE disconnected, but has a new core never hooked up. Needs wire harness. RADIATOR core is new with old side tanks when engine was done. The car needs restoration, but has good bones to make a decent mid year big block Corvette driver. And it is a ''real'' 427/390 convertible with its original engine, trans and differential.
email me if needed, and I will hook you up with the owner Dean in Fresno.

Be careful on ebay. I've had more people BS and try to scam me through ebay recently than ever before. Make sure your request a deposit up front within 24-48 hours before letting them waste your time. If they are serious, they can make it to the bank to wire the money or simply send 500 through paypal
