Default ADDICTED TO--> Late 60's Big Blocks!! *I need help*

O.K., I ran into this beaut over the course of this weekend. 14 miles since a frame off. The car does have a front lower spoiler, it is just not on in these pics.

I won't love it as much as my C3, but I've always wanted a 69 Camaro!! I'll be picking her up next week after a few small fixes.

Here's what the car was taken down to:

Those 3.73's and the 4 speed is not going to work. I'm thinking Keisler for this one.

Simply beautiful! You have great taste in cars, no doubt about it. I'm not familiar enough w/ late gen bigblocks- is that a 454 or 502?

I'm in NO danger of turning into a Leno; that would take me winning the lottery! Not enough zeros in my W-2.

Les,

Thanks for the kind words.

It's a GM crate 502 and my plans are to leave it well enough alone; plenty of power for a cruiser.

Good thing you live in Texas, my wife is drooling over your Camaro. Don't think I'd like to find out what would happen if she saw it in person! I'd have to drag her away kicking and screaming!!

A few small fixes, eh?

"Goes to add antifreeze"
"Realizes overflow tank is cracked. Removes that"
"decides while he is at it to flush the whole cooling system"
"hell, while the radiator is empty might as well remove it and switch it out for a dual electric fan powered radiator"
"While thats off might as well change the bearings in my water pump"
"Since the water pump is off I should get the crank out and drop a new one in"

You know how these things work. SMALL fixes really means another frame off resto

Hey B.
You're starting to block the Edwards Auquifer Recharge Zone with the concrete it takes for your garage to store these beauties. Would you be interested in a trade for a Harley or Jeep for the Camaro??? Just checking.
Seriously, that is a beautiful car...can't wait to see more.

Very nice but please do make sure you have frame connectors or you will RIP the body just ask how I know this lol. Had a 68 RS SS Big Block with a 427 4 sp 4.11 gear. And just wait till you row it through the gears and it makes the big O lol .

Too funny! About the most excited my wife gets on a car purchase was for this Camaro. I said "Man, that's a good looking car", she said "Yeah, it's nice. You ought to give that guy a call".....end of story.

OneBrokenSmile07 - I know exactly what you mean. I've done that a few times; including with my 68 vette. No matter how many times I tell myself I am not going off the deep end....it just keeps getting closer, and closer, and closer....

Pef427 - Funny thing about that garage. We are looking to build a new home in the next couple of years. I have approval for a 6 car monster. Currently, we have a two car garage and just barely manage to get things in there.

PRNDL - Time to start a donation pool?

Seriously guys, thanks for all of the kind compliments.

Robert,

I actually ordered the TKO - 600 yesterday from Keisler; I believe Gray was my salesman.

From one salesman to another though, I commend you for taking advantage of a sales situation.

I believe the ship time on the TKO - 600 was a bit further out than 2 - 4 weeks. I'll be waiting.
