Default California car duster ?

For those who use them, have you ever had a problem with them scratching the paint ? Do you all believe them to be relatively safe to use for light dust/lint ? I always wash my car when it gets even slightly dirty but sitting in the garage for weeks at a time uncovered leaves it with a very fine coating of dust. I started using the duster and it seems to work great for this. What do you all think ?

Thanks for your thoughts,
Scott

I use one just like you do, it doesn't scratch the paint at all. My car also remains pretty clean as it is under a cover in the garage. These dusters are great

They are good when new and for a few years after. had to replace one after 10 years though, just pushed the dust around. .

I've had mine for 5 yrs, still works great. No paint scratches and is a lot gentler than a towel or rag.

Drag coefficient goes down, speed goes up after dusting the car.

I have one that I have used for over 5 years with no problems. I keep my cars under a car cover in the garage, so that also helps keep the dust down.

I've been using one for several years, they seem to get better with age. Just don't use one to dust off the glass.

i go through one about every year...i know its getting worn out when it starts to leave smuges in the paint, and then i have to wipe that off. Great performance...use it every time before i take the vette out. Haven't tried it on the dyno yet.

Works great - based on static charge of wax coated fibers.
Just don't use it when the body is hot, as this can melt the wax
and streak the finish.
I also have a small triangular shaped one for dusting the dash and interior.

Custum73 - For sale everywhere.

Has anyone washed theirs or does that remove some type of coating that is on them?
I thought I read that they can be washed but I have had mine for several years and never washed it as it still works fine.
Just wondering if anyone ever washed one and if it changed the effectiveness at all.
Thanks
