Default interior dash on '74

Well now that the dash is completely off, I'm taking to replacing the gauges and/or checking the wiring. After that, I obviously need to put the dash back on. My question is, what's the difference between getting new dash parts, or getting a dash "pad"? I would assume that the main difference is that getting a pad to cover the original dash involves less grunt work. But is that the only reason for one? Does it look weird having a dash on top of a dash? Furthermore, where's the best place to order these? Willcox seems to be popular on the forum...

are you talking about a "dash skin" or a new dash pad?

the difference is, the skin is just that, a vinyl skin, you peel off the old vinyl and replace it with the new skin.

the dash pad is the whole assy, you bolt it in.
