Default 1968-82 SLP Hyperblack Wheels

I received the new Mid-American catalog on page 133 they show these wheels. 17x8 with zero offset with 4.5" backspace. They are selling with and without tires the tire size that they show are 245/45/17. Will the wheels with the 245/45/17 clear the brake calipers and fit a 79 that had 255/60/15 from the factory? I have installed VB performance plus suspension. Car also has stock trailing arms. SLP web site does not these wheels. Thanks

The wheels are bigger so clearing the calipers shouldn't be an issue. The 245 tires are narrower than the 255's so rubbing shouldn't be an issue either. If Mid-America advertises the wheels for C3's (I don't have the catalog) I would think they would put in a disclaimer if there would be interference problems. The safest thing to do is call Mid-America and ask.

If you buy them don't forget to post some pics of the new wheels on your Vette. Good luck.

Default SLP Hyper Black Wheels

One of the first sets of these wheels/tires were used on the Corvette Fever Project Shark Attack Corvette. They fit right over the SSBC calipers. The car has a complete Vette Brakes suspension. I have driven the car several thousand miles to and from various car shows to display and it drives better than any stock C3, and some lousy C4's. And, they look great on the car. We were all surprised at the immense amount of interest people showed in the wheels where ever the Corvette was displayed. It gets lots of looks on the highway, too.

You can find more about the car at www.corvettefever.com. Just click the Project Shark Attack link. All the articles written to date on the car's build, including the wheels, are there.

$699/set of 4 + $60 shipping in the states. SLP is a stand up company. I've dealt with them for years. They always stand behind their stuff...

If it's made by SLP you can pretty much garauntee it's good quality stuff. Hell they made all of the performance parts for the 4th Gen Camaro SS.
