68 Wiper door question
I have a 68 427 roadster, the wiper door and hood valance vent have been removed and a later model long hood now resides in place of the short hood.
I have bought a short L/88 hood, I would like to use it in place of the long hood. I thought about cutting the long hood and grafting the hood scoop onto my long hood but but I was wondering if there may be another way to use the L88 hood instead. I do not want to use the wiper door assembly, too expensive but more importantly too aggravating. How do I get it to look right with out the wiper door? anyone out there got any ideas and maybe a couple of pics of some re-engineered wiper covers.

Hi
Why didn't you buy a long style L88 hood ?
Readily available with every vendor and fit perfect.
I wouldn't cut any hood up to use partially on an other hood.
You may just buy a long L88 hood for the price you sell both other ones.
Good luck. Günther

You can sell your short hood for more than you will pay for this Whitney L-88 style scoop for $105. It will be a lot easier moulding it on your long hood then trying to make the short hood long. That will likely ruin both hoods in the process IMO. You might also try vanacor and ask if they have those scoops, even though I don't see them in their catalog.
