Default wheel bearings

How do I find out if the rear wheel bearings need replacing?

If they need replacing, they'll make a rumbling noise that occurs at half wheel speed. If they're really bad, they noise is hard to miss. Google for diagnosing wheel bearing noise and you should find some hits.

Cool, thanks. I was told by the shop that they needed replacing and that it all has to do with the front end alignment. I have replaced wheel bearings before but on the front wheels of different cars. However, I have not seen, heard, nor felt anything that has made me think they needed replaced.

Jack up the rear end and grab the tire at 3 and 9 oclock and try to move it. If there is a lot of play the bearings may need attention. But chances are if they are not making any noise they are fine.
