Default St. Louis Assembly Plant Pictures - 1980 1981

There were some links to pictures of the 1980 or 1981 Corvettes in the St. Louis plant on here some months ago. I have tried searching and despite various combinations, I haven't found that thread or those links.

Does anyone have those links handy?

Does anyone have links to other years?

Thanks,
Mark

Did you try an Archives search under "Advanced Search"? That thread is old enough that it's probably been locked and sent to storage.

These are a great set of photographs. The question is, when were they taken since cameras were not allowed in the plant. None of these photos shows any human presence, so they were taken at a time when the plant was probably closed. Exterior pictures appear to have been taken in cold weather. Best guess is Christmas, 1980. I wouldn't be surprised to learn the shooter was a security guard or maintenance personnel.

Anyone know for sure?

Actually, someone took those C3 pictures last time they were posted and made a collage(sp) where you could insert your own vette in the center. I have it on my hard drive, but have no idea how to make it accessible to the forum.

Yes we know for sure. You can see date codes on the frames. (They are upside down Those are '81 models being built about his time of year back in 1980.

Well, you have to be daring. And as you can see, most of the guys in there were just sitting around passing the night away.

I printed some of the pics at Walgreens and put them in some really nice $1 store frames, then hung them around the garage. It definely gives the garage the vintage look.

Thanks for the links and the the great pictures. Just what I needed. I guess I needed to put "assbly" in the search instead of "assembly".

I finally got one of the three links to come up with St. Louis Plant but not the other two.

Merry Christmas to all.

Default Merry Christmas.

And a few more. How is this for a Christmas present, a few plant shots no one has seen?

Who needs a showroom, just walk down the line and pick one out. I did this also at Bowling Green,
but didn't have a camera. I was with a friend at BG so I didn't want to get him in trouble if I got caught.
