Default anti theft alarm

I have a 1970 corvette convt. Does the round key to lock the doors also operate the anti theft switch at the rear of the car?

i'm rebuilding a 70. as far as i can determine by tracing the wires, only the rear alarm key will set the alarm. my alarm horn was totally rusted out, and the switch will not turn due to corrosion. am going to a modern remote system when i get that far.

the round GM key for the alarm.(later vins, after mid to late june). The same round key opens the rear storage compartment as well. The square key does the doors.

BTW early 70's used the smaller briggs and stratton key/lock

Mine is the early 1970 so it must be the briggs and stratton key. I wonder how I would find a key for mine?

I just went through this on my 70 project. My alarm switch was broken and there was no key. I purchased a new switch from Paragon, part number 2934K. It fit and works perfect. It is the early style switch.

Remove the lock and take it to any locksmith and he will make a key for you.

I did that for the storage compartment lock. Took about 5 minutes.

You can order the lock cylinder with new keys also if it comes to that.

I did the same thing (Early version), a perfect fit and match to existing if you have this type. They are not interchangeable, the later type is available at your local chevy dealer.
