Best places to buy parts?
Hello,
Have bought parts online from Ecklers, Corvette America and Summit.
As I am going to visit the USA thought it might be a good idea to buy several needed parts and save the shipping costs and taxes.
Can You suggest any good retail stores for both C3 specific parts and perfomance parts in Florida and/or California?
Thank You!
Janno

Crane's Corvette in California is another place, especially good for used "treasures" that you might not be able to find elsewhere.

Thanks for good suggestions!
The shopping list includes for example:
steering wheel, seat belts, radiator seals etc, several small interior items
boost referenced carburetor, ignition box, torque converter, shift kit, roller rockers, blower pulleys etc
Looking for new parts, Vette specific parts might be reproduction

If you go to Summit, I think they have a store in Reno, Nevada, which is close to CA border.
I haven't been there so that I have no idea about their stocks.

The world's largest Corvette Tech Support Center is in Columbia, Missouri. Might be worth a look.

I've had great luck with Corvette Central. Their prices have been competitive, if not better, than others and their service has been outstanding.
I also ordered my new aluminum radiator from DeWitts and found the service and quality to be excellent.

It pays (costs less) to shop around. I've had good luck with Doc Rebuild for most of my parts (originality) but I've bought from Zip, Corvette America, Vette Brakes and Parts, and Al Knoch, too. At some of the shows, I've picked up a few items from Keen Parts and an outfit called Smart Parts. For some of the bigger items, it definitely will be worth your while to look at every one of the Forum Vendors and others to keep your costs down. Good luck with your hunt...

All the ones mentioned are pretty good. I read Corvette Central has these new rear window weatherstrips that are supposed to be as soft/supple as original. On some of the harder to find smaller items if you want as close to original as possible (if that matters to you), Doc Rebuild is a good source. For most things, it's hard to beat Ecklers. They're out of FL too. If you come towards Chicago, Mid-America is about an hour or so South.
