Default 77 Chartruse

I noticed there was one factory 77 car painted Chartruse color. Does anyone know why that was? What happend to it? Where is it now? Pictures?

The only story that I heard about that one was that a GM biggie had it specialy made for his wife.................Jerrylee///

I've been trying to find pictures of that poor car for ages.

I think you're mixing up stories. The Corvette Chartreuse was a standard-issue paint color, but only one car was ordered that way. It wasn't a special issue. There is a documented pink C2 that a GM biggie ordered for his wife, IIRC...

It's probably been repainted red by now.

I was curious about this seemingly "lost Corvette" too. Last year I went so far as to have my paint shop run the GM code and mix a sample of the color. Here is what it looked like. I took the picture outside in natural light so it would show the truest in a photo to post.

The original '77 painted Corvette Chartreuse had a black interior. I think with this color combination the car probably looked pretty good.

Does anyone have a picture of any C3 painted Chartreuse? Just to see what it would look like. Maybe someone in Corvette History section would know more? Would be a great story to find out for sure for the trivia hound.
