Restoration update...Oh so close!
I'm sure by now that some of you are tired of reading about my restoration progress, but I thought I'd share a couple of quick updates.
First of all, I NEVER SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT THIS CAR! I had no idea what I was about to get myself into. I bought the car on Fleebay sight unseen (first mistake) and brought it home after seeing it (second mistake). This car has been the biggest headache in every stretch of the imagination. But now that it's nearly done, I wouldn't have changed a thing. Almost 2 years later, it finally made it around the block under it's own power. I still have a ton of things that need attention, but just hearing that sweet hum of the side pipes makes it all seem worth it. I won't bore you guys with all the details, but feel free to ask any questions.
Many thanks go out to a neighbor that turned me onto the forum. You guys have been a great help along the way. And thanks to those (especially Willie and Matt) that have donated parts for a worthy cause.

Your car is looking great!
Everyone that has ever restored a Vette can attest to what you're saying. It took me five years to get my 68 to the point to where I could drive it to the DMV to get it registered, and two years later, I'm still working on it! It never seems to end
Keep up the good work

Looking good. I thought the same thing a few times when working on my 72 - but it is all worth it. My wife was getting a little ticked at the time and money I was spending on my car (instead of her I guess).
I've documented most of my restoration at www.thespark.us
Despite the headaches I really enjoy working on the C3. It is my way of forgetting the daily grind and focussing on something else. Sometimes I have to focus on finding the wrench I just threw across the garage out of frustration - but at least it's not thinking about work.

Looks great, keep the pic's coming. we need to see interior. & give details on the new motor we like those details. I once purchased a car in the rain & at night from a guy who you wouldn't give the time of day to if he asked you on the street. Now that was a mistake I still have bad dreams about. I had to carry this sign for years after that one Back of sign read & I'm Stupid.

Looks damn good to me. I bought one that I knew had a few problems. I believe I have worked through most of them and would not do anything different at this point. Have fun with your car and keep the pics coming. I bet that motor sounds killer through the sidepipes. Got any videos?

Thanks for the posting and the photos. Seeing photos like this and what can be done with our cars always puts me in a better mood to get going on the weekend.
After seeing some of your photos, I cant wait till Saturday to start wrenching again.
Your car looks like it is coming along great.
