I favor a Rochester. My grandfather used a Rochester, my father uses a Rochested and so do I!

Poll is too broad,..like asking what's a better golf club,..an 8-iron? or a 4-wood? Depends on what you're trying to accomplish.
What are the goals for the car?
What engine and tranny?
What intake?
What HP?
What vacuum?
Is mileage a concern or are you only concerned with WOT?
BTW, Holleys preceded Q-jet which hit Chevy's in about 65.

Used both. Like both. Depends on the application.
Really like the Holley 6210 spread bore with mech secondaries.
Also think highly of the Q-Jet if it is set up correctly.

If I have to choose 1, I choose a Holley because I can work on it. There is nothing wrong with a properly built Quadrabog. It is the best of both worlds, however I have never successfully built one for myself. But I answered the poll with Fuel Injection so it's a moot point anyway.

I have a Quadrajet in my 68 427 and a Holley in my 65 L79. I am always tinkering with the Holley. The Q-Jet seems to just run and run with no tinkering. The Holley carbs seem to deliver more power through the RPM band because it has larger primaries. The Q-Jet has very small primaries and is very fuel efficient. You need to get into the secondaries to get to the power from the Q Jet. Both have their plusses and minuses. I have a Speed Demon in my 61 and consider it the best of both worlds. Makes lots of power and I never need to play with it.

Edelbrock did, of course, make a Q Jet carb (I have one) but it's not a Rochester. As someone else stated, Edelbrock carbs are essentially Carters.
