I don't know what "906" Vortec heads are, but whatever Vortec heads are on my GM 350 HO crate engine have straight plugs.
I had major plug clearance problems on the block hugger headers I had before the Dynomax headers in this picture. I had to remove the headers to get all the plugs out and had to dimple the headers to get clearance for the boots. I can get all 8 plugs out now and didn't have to dimple the headers either. I also had engine mount problem (melting) with block huggers too. For all these reasons, I went with asymetric headers vs. symetrical on either side of cylinders 4-6 and 3-5.

Also not mentioned yet, vortec plugs have been relocated slightly closer to the exhaust ports than standard strait plug sbc heads. This could be the cause of some header headaches.
