Default 69 vette radiator drain

Does the stock 69 radiators have a drain plug at the bottom?
Can't find one

How do you drain the old coolant out without a drain plug?

When I pulled the radiator on my 73 there was no drain plug. I'm sure it wasn't original. I pulled the hose off the lower radiator connection and tried to keep the anti-freeze in a tub. As it turned out I had to wash the garage floor. Good luck.

I was reading another thread on the forum. Lot of folks were saying that the 69 original radiators did not have a drain plug.

Even if you pull the lower hose, some coolant will still be left over in the radiator. How did you drain that?

There should be. How else do you get the coolant out?
My '69 has a drain/petcock on the bottom passenger side. The radiator is original, and I believe it's a 1/8"NPT thread.
Not positive it's original. Anyone......?

Hmm..
Check post #4 on this interesting thread.

I can't find mine either. Maybe it's not the original radiator.

My sb '69 has the original aluminum rad. with the drain **** on the driver side bottom, just like this photo

However, I think the BBs had copper radiators, so this info might not be valid for rajsid.

Cheers,
Pete

Also my aluminum radiator looks like original, it has stamped number 3155316 on the top left side and just under the number is welded a small plate with number 700 (I am not 100% sure of the numbers, it is a bit hard to see)

/John

My 69 350, a/c, has a copper radiator without expansion tank. That may be the key. The radiators were different for a/c optioned cars. I fell into that when I was shopping for the correct replacement support.

Thanks, it is a 100feet paint :-(
But I knew that when I bought it.
I bought the car in NJ, and had it shipped to Denmark, Europe.
