Default T-top drip rail sealant

Preparing T-tops for paint for 75 coupe.

Removing drip rails (chrome trim from side and front of T-tops). There is some tar or asphalt-like sealant that is under the side drip rails that seals/bonds the chrome pieces to the t-top.

Anybody know where I can get some more or what is used now days in lieu of this material?

Auto Parts stores sell 3-M Strip Caulk in a box. #08578. There are 1 foot long thin strips of caulk/sealer in the box.
Regards,
Alan

PS: I believe you'll find the trim pieces are stainless steel and polish up really easily.
