Thanks Rick for your help. Your template worked beautifully. Below is a picture of the end result. It's people like you that make this such a great forum

How did you go about drilling the holes? I'm sure there are at least 4 others that want to know.

I'm glad it worked out and I was happy to be able help. Thanks again for the gift card, that was a nice surprise.

I simply taped the template to the rear of the car using the measurements you posted in this thread. I then marked each hole using a marker. I then removed the template and drilled each hole starting with a small 1/16 starter drill bit (this is about the time I started sweating profusely ). I held each emblem over the pilot holes just as a sanity check. Then drilled the hole with the correct drill bit and installed the emblem.

It really went smooth. I think the trick is to just take your time and be extremely careful.

Good idea Rick, but why not make the template out of metal using the paper template to lay it out on metal. That way the metal will serve as a guide for the drill bit to keep it from wondering.

Bernie,
That's a decent idea and the guys I send these to might want to consider making a metal template from my paper one but I've sent out probably 10-12 of these.
I don't ask for anything in return but if I were to make them using metal I would need to. I don't have any material or a drill press and so far no one has seems to have had any problems.

You'd be better off going to this thread where you can get a template e-mailed to you.

If for some reason you can't get one let me know and I'll make one and get it in the mail for you asap.
