Default Help on fire extinguisher

Finishing up the frame off on my 69 vert and am looking to purchase the last few items.

I am looking for the fire extinguisher bracket that will mount it in front of the passenger seat.

Also I am interested in the Halon? I think its called or the one that will not do more harm to the car in case of a fire. I think a 2.5lb would be right?

Any advice help or place to purchase these items for a deal would be great

I mounted my fire extinguisher behind the driver's seat on the wheel well hump. Just make sure the battery door clears it if you choose to mount it there. It's a neat installation and out of the way. I was able to use the mounting bracket that came with the fire extinguisher.

I have a '69 vert as well so I know it works well.

Try these guys. They have the brackets that fit the front seat frame bolts and have the extinguishers too. Be sure to study the discharge rates of each chemical type to get what you want.

There is some good advice here. I asked about a "fixed" system a couple of years ago and got all sorts of info on how to maintain my fuel lines so they wouldn't leak and start a fire, but NOTHING about what type extinguisher.

FWIW, I still haven't done a fixed system (yet), but I do carry a 10lb ABC in the car. And the one rubber line on the car is from the frame to the fuel pump- everything else is steel.

The only rubber line in the fuel system on mine is from the tank to the SS lines, the rest is Earls fittings

I will try out that link thanks

Halotron, 2 1/2lb. The securing bracket is screwed into the deck.

This is the one I bought from vetteworksonline. No need to drill any holes as it bolts to the passenger seat mounts. You can't move the passenger seat forward or back once you install it though.
