papawana, thank you! Now I need to set aside some time to figure out what some knucklehead did to get the wiring all messed up. I mean it is weird! I press the brakes and the left and right turn signal light on the dash lights up but the directionals don't work with the lever.
Thanks again!!!!

After looking at the diagrams I think my issue stems from the actual switch in the steering column. I've read a couple of posts regarding this job and it seems like it is going to be a big one. I've also noticed some play in the steering wheel so I might have to tackle that matter while I'm at it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Just got a 79 - wiring issues and passenger door wont open. If papawana is out there and still willing to share wiring diagram or whatever would be very helpful.

Been on the site a little while - very helpful in helping me pick my car.

Thanks!

Papawanna,
I wanted to thank you for the items you've sent to date, to me as well as others. I've been able to get all of my exterior lights and some interior items repaired. The only issue I have left is the dash lights and my radio keeps cutting in and out. I think the radio antenna is causing me issues with the radio itself though. Gonna track it today to see what I find. Reason I believe this is because as soon as the antenna starts to go up the radio cuts out. As for the dash, I'm still struggling with that one. Any suggestions would be great!

Hi, I hate to ask, but is it possible to acquire a copy of the wiring diagrams?
Rochonr45@yahoo.com.

Thanks in advance. Just acquired a 79 last week.

if all of your fuses are good, and none of your dash lights work, my bet is that your ignition switch is bad...two of the used C3's that I bought had the same problem...a new ignition switch fixed it after checking out everything else

Default 1979 Pink Wire fuse box /IGN

The pink wire on the fuse box coming out the IGN connection. Can someone tell me where the other end connects to? The other end looks like a 2 prong connector with pink and red leads. The red wire is cut on mine? Thanks for the help.

Order an owner's manual for your 79. Lots of valuable information in the owner's manual.

on your fuse box, the third row up from the bottom, on the far left, is the ignition receptacle...on the engine side of the firewall it goes to Feed, Ignition Switch, On & Crank Controlled, Unfused...this wire you are talking about, what side of the firewall did you find it?...if the red wire is cut, where does the pink lead go to?...I can send you great wiring diagrams but I need your email address

Thanks for the help. That was it. It was part of the Cruise Control wire harness.

Default diagrams please?

Thanks if you're still around, papa.

Also, based on these pictures? Should I be surprised that the brake lights and windshield wipers don't work? I was wondering why they aren't working ever since I got the vehicle and it seems like a lot of fuses are missing.
