If so your 427 engine is on Craigslist...

Not mine, just passing it on.

what a trip that would be to run across your cars original engine on something like craigslist or ebay. theres got to be some interesting stories of engines and cars being reunited years later..

Just about a year ago a real '65 Chevelle Z16 block came across ebay, and it just so happened the car was still out there and the current owner was on ebay looking and did end up winning the auction. If I recall correctly the owner of the car had it since the '70's or so when he pulled the engine out for a reason I cannot recall and sold it. You have better odds of winning the lottery than having that happen.

Went up on the C3 Corvette Registery (http://www.c3registry.org/index.php?uid=8407) to see if the VIN had been registered there.

No luck.

What a shame. How cool would it be for that guy to get a call that his original engine is all ready to go! For only $6,500!!!

This is a very late car. Probably rolled off in first week of Dec. '69, final number for Nov '69 was 36,798.

I seen that, I didn't realize the production of these cars stretched so far into 1969!
