Default 1976 with all fiberglass floors?

I am replacing my carpets, seat's etc and in appears that my 1976 has all fiberglass floorboards!

I am very happy with this fact however my question is....

How many did they make in 1976 without the steel pans?

I am guessing that my car is a early 76.

They changed to steel floors in early 75. Some 75's have glass floors.

Have never heard of a 76 with the glass floors.

According to the Corvette Bible, they changed to steel floor in 1976 to

"...to add strength and improve shielding from exhaust system heat"

Black Book says "engineers put in... partial steel underbelly in the forward section... in 1976..."

What's the VIN? Shouldn't be any guessing involved.

............hmmmmmm, my '75 coupe is #35026 out of 38465 with a build date of July 12, 1975 and it has all fiberglass floors except the area just above where the original catalytic converter was. Has a factory metal heat shield cut into the floors in this area.

Maybe I'm the dummy, but here is an ad like most of the venders have and it states that the early 75's had the glass and later had the steel.

http://www.who-sells-it.com/cy/mid-a...-fullsize.html

My 75 convertible is less than #2000 and has the glass.

So does anyone have a 75 with the steel floors???
