AC Compressor
Does anyone have a close up picture of the compressor with the mounting brackets and stuff on a 79 corvette? My car came with ac but someone removed the compressor and brackets and I need to see all that I need to mount my new compressor.
Thanks

here is a pic i found on my website of my '78 L48, I'm thinking it shouldn't be much different from yours
if you look at the pic full size you should see the support rod that goes from the top of the bracket to the top of the block.
I would go out and take more but I haven't seen her in a few weeks. (shes getting finished up at the shop)

Here's a pic from a few weeks ago when I was returning my 79 to stock.
There are 2 main brackets, a cast one and a steel plate one. There are also 2 support braces, one goes underneath the compressor to a bolt on the fuel pump mounting boss facing forward and the upper one goes to an intake manifold bolt with a stud just below the carburator to that upper mount hole in the steel plate bracket(not shown in pic).
If you have headers, you will need a spacer in the first exhaust hole as shown, nothing needed with stock manifolds.

Someone (maybe fl_rider) posted some A/C bracket pics. that show the brackets on the engine out of the car.

PS I had saved the pics. to sell my R4 brackets which were sold awhile back.
