78 Corvette value.
Whats my car worth? 78 L-82 automatic. Starting problem. Think its rubber lines around fuel tank. Has some scratches. Runs good. Originally a silver anniversary. Steering wheel might need replaced. http://s291.photobucket.com/albums/l...t=DSC00252.jpg

So it's NOT really a Pace Car correct?
This will help you determine approx value. The numbers are condition, 1 being best.

Here's a search of AUTOTRADER for 78' Vette. Prices all over the map. Looks like more cars over 12K than under.

12 is a lot not even taking into account that the paint doesn't even resemble whats on the trim tag. Way too high.

Well really its only worth as much as someone is willing to pay. Right now I would agree with a $9-10k figure, more if it was mechanicly sound.
Wow, there are a lot of car dealers who sure do think alot of the 78, but the one that really amazes me is the private seller whose got his custom (read completely illegal) 78 for $55k which is even higher than the pro-team ad...I wouldnt take any consolation from that listing of cars as I think 90% of the sellers are hallucinating if they think their 78's are worth upwards of 25-30k, almost all of them claim mileage in the low 1000's which I find spurious as well.

pc poser = pace car poser
real pace cars had a unique id in the vin (I do believe)
those heartbeat mats belong in a 80's Camaro
horn button color should match the column (interior color)

I think 12k would be good if it was running. would be better if it was not pace car paint, but, what u gonna do? I would make it work, and paint/change the horn button, then you could prolly see close to 12 as long as you are patient.
