Default Wiper Door won't go down

I finally fixed my wipers (after 5 years of not working) and now the wiper door won't go back to the 'home' position. I checked all the hoses, and they all look right. The by-pass under the steering column is in the correct position. Any ideas? Is there a 'home' switch on the wipers that will tell the door it's OK to go back?

Start the car and pull the small hose off at the wiper door relay valve and see if it has vacuum on it.

There is a switch under the door in the well (passenger side) that the wipers park against, once pushed and vacuum breaks or occurs, not sure which, the door will close. This prevents the door from going down on top of the wiper arms.....................

Bad relay.

Sounds like it's sending vacuum for the open operation and not sending it for the close.

Thanks, I think I see the problem, I'm missing one of those hoses. Now I have to figure out which one.

Do you have the assembly instruction manual (AIM)? The AIM shows the correct hose routing and colors. Study the assembly drawing and you'll get the hang of it.

Make sure the LH wiper arm is down completely, then make sure the RH wiper is pushing down the relay "button" which tells the door to close.

Markbet the AIM can be unclear and often incorrect , Willcox has a good vacuum diagram.

Markbet don't confuse the relay in my drawing with the valve under the wiper arm.
If you need some further testing to confirm your problem let me know and I can walk you through it with some pinch testing to isolate your problem.

There is a "interlock valve" that prevents the panel from closing untill the wiper arms are safely parked. Check to make sure this valve is working and not cracked and make sure the 3 hoses are installed.
here are some pics of the Valve.

Just a follow up, it turned out to be the check valve was not in the correct position. All adjusted and working perfectly. Thanks!
