Default 69 Seat Frame Repair

I noticed this part says it will work for 70-78 seat frames. Will it work for a 69? Is there a difference in the lower seat frame of a 69 than that of a 70-78?

I can post a picture of some bare 68-69 seat frames if it would help you decide how to best repair them.

The rear area of the seat bottom is different between 68/69 and later (backrest locking mechanism). So I don't think the mentioned reinforcement will fit (perfectly).

These are 69 seat frames:

Yes. 68-69 lower frames are different because of the seat back releases, but the techinique of the repair might work.

I don't know the difference but here are 1974 seats for comparison.

while you are sourcing parts you need to get the new nylon washers for where the seat bottoms and seat tops pivot.....this is a critical component and ususally have to be ordered

Default seat frame

Anyone know why one side of the bottom of the later model seat frame is tapered over (see pic) the lower frame of the 69 appears to have striaght sides. ??????

Take any damaged seat frames to a local welding job shop. Ask them how much to add support metal where it needs it on your frames. They can fix them easily.

Quite true but those plates (only $20.00 each) are pre-drilled/threaded for bumper/adjuster hardware and seat release strap. Very convenient.

I thought the OP indicated he couldn't find any for a '69 C3.

I think the question was whether the 1970-77 plates will fit. I don't have the answer. My pics were for comparison purposes.
