Default HELP! 1972 w/LT1 Production numbers???

I'm looking for a breakdown of the number of 1972 LT1 corvettes by color....

I have seen the number of LT1 cars produced for that year (1741) and a breakdown of production numbers by color in general, but never by color and option.

I would specifically like to know the total number of Elkhart Green (second most popular color that year) LT1 corvettes produced.

I have one !

seriously, though, you may have to extrapolate the numbers from the toatal since I don't think there are any known sources of this information available.
Total # of corvettes produced in 1972 were 27,004, of those,1741 were LT-1's or 15% of total production.
As you stated in your post Elkhart Green was the second most requested color(after Ontario Orange), with 4200 cars painted that color, 6.4% of the total number produced. So with that information you can assume that 6.4% of the 1741 LT-1's were painted Elkhart Green or somewhere around 111.4 cars.Hope this helps

Nice car Roy!! I love that color!! It was the color of the first vette I ever drove at the tender age of 17!!! Man I loved my Uncle's car!!

I was thinking the same thing about the numbers....6.5% of the cars produced were LT1s and 15% of the cars made were Elkhart Green, so one could assume that 15% of the LT1s were Elkhart, but I was hoping that someone had hard numbers....

Thanks again Roy....and love your car!!!

The hard numbers do not exist- they never did. You can do like many others and crunch some simplistic percentages. Next thing you know, they will be quoted as being 'the truth' on some other internet board.

My car is less than one of one, according to percentages. That beats the .4 car that was painted your colour.

Should I include the 27 that were originally painted Elkhart Green but were repainted red?

RVAZQUEZ' guesstimate is about as close as you can get and no guarantee on that. Add factory air to the green LT-1s and it gets even scarier.

Yeah...I didn't even want to mention the other options....I'm starting to shop for an Elkhart Green C3 and so far have only come across LT1 optioned cars for sale....so I was just curious if anyone has been crunching some numbers....thanks!
