Default Were these pistons used in 70-71 Corvettes?

Hi Guys, I ran across an NOS set of GM TRW pistons for a 454 stamped "GM" "3963550", .....I guess they are out of a 70 Chevelle LS-6 but were they used on Corvettes?..........Thanks and stay safe, john

avalonjohn,

1970 LS-6 pistons had a dome height of .300 and a closed chamber configuration style, while the 1971 LS6 piston had a dome height of .095 and a open chambered style configuration. That accounts for the 11:25 to 1 compression on the 1970 versus the 9:0 to 1 on the 1971.

gotcha.......these are 11.25 to 1 so I guess these are for a 70.....were these in 1970 Corvette's or just Chevelles? Thanks for the info!

avalonjohn,

Only the '70 Chevelle LS-6. The 1970 LS-7 engine used a 12:25 to 1 open chamber style piston with higher dome height than the 1970 LS-6 piston.
