Default Where to get new console data plate printed???

Trying to get my blank console data plate done...

Not having much luck, maybe I dont know what to ask?? Is the process silk screening, engraving, printing, what?

Have been to trophy shops, T-shirt shops....locally no one seems to be of any help.

Suggestions...

Thanks!

Most of those are available from the aftermarket suppliers, is yours something out of the usual, that they don't have? They are called "console engine data plates" about $11.50 ea.

If all else fails, try an art supply store. They have "Press Type" in all sorts of fonts and sizes. Find the one that suits you, apply the type and clear coat it. Basically it's little stick on letters and numbers. Only a last resort, but it's a possible fix too.

Try a sign shop. One with a good printer should be able to make a vinyl sticker that you can attach to the plate.

Cant believe, since these are sold by several vendors, that it would be so difficult to find someone to do the printing. I'll have to do some more calling around before I go the "stick-on" route...which seems a little bubba-ish to me...

Maybe I just haven-t called the right shop....

Thanks for the ideas!

You need to find a place that can do silk screening, I had it done at a trophy shop, but maybe other businesses can do the same thing.

There's nothing magical about the console data plate.
The originals are "stick on" too. Doesn't take much to pry them out of the console.

Fred,

We're not talking about the plate, but the numbers...

Ah Ha, you want a custom printed data plate.
Thought you were simply trying to reprint your original plate.

An engraver or even jewelry stores often have some abilities. In a larger population; definitely engraver ( & trophy). Small towns; possibly jewelry store engraving.

I made in a trophy shop a printed plate that I glue over the existing data, when you look you can't see that it bolt over the plate only when you touch it.

I think I will make a new one with complete words of Horsepower & Cubic Inches

In many printing companies, the digital workflow stops with plate imaging. Preflight, layout, color corrections, proofs, plates and that's it.
