Default Whats the Difference Between the 1978 L48 and L82???

Other than the dual snorkel intake...what are the differences between these two GM 350's that would account for such a substantial horsepower increase with the L82?

L-82:
4 bolt mains
Forged rotating assembly (more rpm)
Higher compression ratio
Bigger cam
Bigger valves in heads (2.02 intake, 1.60 exhaust)

L-48:
2 bolt mains
Cast rotating assembly (less rpm)
Lower compression ratio
Smaller cam
Smaller valves in heads (1.94 intake, 1.50 exhaust)

Complete different motor under than air cleaner.

The power stuff is a bigger cam, larger valves, and higher compression. The quality stuff is forged rotating parts and 4-bolt mains.
