Do you have brake lights in the rear? That's where it counts.

Thats funny.

The simplest thing would be if the 2 filaments in one of the rear light bulbs are crossed or touching.

Not my intent, but I see your point. He says the front parking lights are coming on when he steps on the brake. I'm wondering whether he has brake lights in the rear. If he has rear brake lights and something going on with the front parking lights, makes you wonder whether Bubba has been there.

Put the body on backwards after your restoration?

I agree with Roger, shorting the two circuits would do that. Maybe the wrong (single filament) bulbs are installed in the rear, or maybe the wiring is shorted somewhere.
