M-20 / M-21 / M-22 Tranny Guys Come On In
Curious, my synchros are shot, & i'm getting ready to have my shop rebuild my tranny it's a M-20. I want to know first is, does anyone sell a complete rebuild kit with all the "CORRECT" guts / gears ? and can I change the guts / gears to the M-21 close ratio, or the M-22 guts / gears or did these tranny's have / require different cases ?
Also since it's an internal rebuild / any suggestions on what to upgrade or put in there ? I'll also be doing a new clutch at that time, why not everything is already out......& i'm in need of a new positive battery cable that will be done at the same time as well, as it appears nearly impossible to install it in the tunnel with the tranny in.......
Any & all INPUT ......... would greatly be appreciated !!

I just recently finished rebuilding a Muncie.
All Muncie's used the same case, but the earlier models did use a smaller shaft diameter for the countergear, so the hole in the front of the case and in the midplate can vary by year.
I bought the super rebuild kit from T&B Transmission and Gear.
They also sell complete gear kits so you can build it to whatever model you would like.

Make sure you take your rear end gearing into account when deciding on new gears.

You can change gearsets. Don't overlook at the M22W set, but I'd avoid the OD ones. Also, consider the HD mid-plate.
