Outstanding. You've done a wonderful custom. Not over the top. Very personal. Would love to see that car at our annual Plastic Fantastic here in San Diego. It would fit in beautifully! Thanks for sharing.....

Nice job

Did you do the 2 tone leather yourself, if not, where did you get that style from?

The two tone was my idea, I had a local interior shop do the seat covers to my specs.

Good morning 76Vette1.

When you said you "used a 1/2" spacer between the seats and the original seat rails" do you mean that you bolted them to your original C3 seat rails? I just received my C5 seats and am trying to plan my weekend.

Thanks for any information you can provide.

Nice, I am also thinking about doing this, but to match my black and silver 78!

Are you upgrading your foam pads at this time also when you rip off the current upholstery? My leather and foam are good, so I am having a hard time convincing myself to upgrade right now just for the two tone setup.

That's what I did. Here they are with some hex nuts as temporary spacers. I'll send you a PM with more info.

I tried using my original seat rails at first. However, at 6 feet tall, my head hit the roof big time. That's why I ended up using the Corabu seat frames. The are flat against the floor. Now I have head room and more knee room. C3's are not for tall guys!

Here's my uh-oh moment. I received my C5 seats out of a 2000 with only 40K miles. They seats are awesome. Wife loves them.....

I placed just the driver's seat on the floor and sat on it. I'm 6'1" and my uh-oh moment is that I have just 2.5" of headroom. I'm planning the seat rail mounting (thanks Trae1976) but am not worried about clearance. My wife is 5'3" so she'll be fine (LOL!).

No problem.

Yeh, my C5 seats definitely sit higher than the stock seats, especially after I installed new foam. I'm 5'11" and have never felt cramped in it, but the tops are off about 90% of the time.

I have 03 Z06 seats and the drivers side is power. Can the seat be fitted without having to modify the floor?

The C5 tracks bolt pattern is a little narrower, and I would think the front 'feet' would have to go. But it may be possible to fab up some adaptor brackets of some kind.

I considered it briefly, but the power options just weren't that important to me.

I'm sorry, I guess I should have mentioned, when I mount the seat at the correct height with the newer tabs cut off and old tabs welded on correctly, will the motors fit between the seat and the floor? The correct height is more important than the power option.

@BB72 I can't wait to see the responses. It won't change my decision to mount my '75 rails to my '00 seat frames.

lol...my bet is no the motors won't fit. That will be a bitch because the body is on the frame now and clearancing the floor might get nasty. I'm guessing your comment is regarding putting the whole 75 rail on instead of the mounting tabs, is that correct?

Sorry, I was on vacation and missed your question!

The MrMikes kits come with everything to repair the seats as well as full video instructions. Check out the website.

To all of my friends I haven't met yet.
The past weekend was very productive. My neighbor and friend helped me mate my C5 seats to my C3 rails. I did fit the seats back in to cockpit and noticed that the previous owner had 1" wooden blocks/shims under the rear-outside seat rail connections. The wife sat in the driver's seat while in the car and I could tell she was very happy with the "new" and much more comfortable seats.

Special thanks to Trae1976 for his message that included incredibly helpful pictures and instructions.

Best regards,
Kirk
