is because they're shaped like a woman? I mean some say it's a coke bottle shape, but when I see a C3 I see a gorgeous woman laying down. At least the kind of woman I want to be with. Sorry if this has been posted before.

I started in 1970 with c2 coupe and in 1973 bought c3 coupe. I have gone back and forth over the years swapping favorite between 67 and 70 and here I am now with both and prefer the c3 over the c2 and most likely will sell c2 and not look back, hopefully...lol

I never thought of that comparison.......maybe that's the reason I like the design so much.

Someone here, actually did a photoshop of a C3 & a female model overlay....a very racy photo indeed. I can't remember who it was though.
Besides all that, In my eye's....the C3 is without a doubt, the sexiest body style going in the Vette world. I can remember many days when I had pulled the car out of the garage, and had it just sitting in the driveway.....I would come back in the home to lock up, and when I would open my front door to leave....I would just be in awe. I would sit down on my park bench and just stare at it for about 15 minutes!
Then it was off for a drive and get her dirty!!!!!!!! JMO
Stay in tune....

Why I prefer my C3...
I've had my '80 L48 since 1997 and will never part with it. It's a sports car in every sense and I enjoy driving it every chance I can get (except in winter weather).
I think what attracts me to the vette and keeps me enjoying it is that it is a 2-seater and, as such, there are few domestically built sports cars that have ever compared to it (save for perhaps the Cobra and Viper... both much more 'brutal' in character). And, it is a body style that dates back (from concept cars) to the year I was born (1963). And, the drive train is pure Chevy which means I can work on it (last year w/out a computer).
It helps also that I've done a lot of the work on my C3. So, I 'know' the car more than any other vehicle I've ever owned.

I have always thought the C2s were lean and mean.
Just one look tells you, look out your fixing to be romped.
The C3s on the other hand are soft and sexy just begging you
to taker for a ride.
C4s
Or... Something like that...

I've done IT on it, in it (think drop top), and around it. If it had parts that felt like a horse nibbling oats out of my hand, I'd probably marry it.

I was born during the C3 era, so that's what I got!
My car and I are the same age and I have to say that while I'm not sexy, my car is!
Even before I got my car in 1996, the C3 body shape is what I thought of when I thought of a Corvette!
Such a classic design!
I met Larry Shinoda in 1992 and my dad bought me 2 of this lithos that he signed.
Love that Shark!

I bought my first Corvette at age 21 in 1977. I bought a '65 396 convertible because it was the cheapest Corvette in the Massachusetts "WantAdvertiser" that month- $2500. Mid years were the entry level cars and no one wanted convertibles. However, EVERYONE wanted the new "Late Model" which had those incredible lines. We all referred to them as "Coke bottle" Corvettes, even though it looked SO much like a shark. Much more than the Mid year which supposedly had its roots in trying to replicate a shark body. No one called the late models "sharks" back then, though.
Ive been through 16 Corvettes since, of every shape and style. Loved my solid axle and mid years and Im old enough to be able to afford more collector-level cars now like the early cars... but I still get that "flutter" over the '68-'69 convertible the most, even though they dont cost half what some of the early cars cost.
I just think that shark/coke bottle body has simply the most beautiful lines of all.

my 1st shot at getting a Corvette was when i ordered a brand new loaded 78, in 1978.
Found out my Dad got cancer, i cancelled the order , & he died a year later.
Life got in the way , then for my 50th birthday , i bought my 80 DD & enjoy it year round , since Jan 30,2007
Life is short , do what you enjoy now - don't put it off.
Pete.
