Default Need Vintage Air Installer in South Fla

Does anyone know someone in the Ft Lauderdale/Boca Raton/West Palm Beach area that has experience installing Vintage AC? The unit costs around $1300 and I want to make sure whoever does the install has experience doing something like that (this is for a 69 Vette). Also, does anyone have any idea as to how many hours the install should take?
Thanks

Try Gold Coast Vettes by a guy named Zen. He is not cheap but is suppose to do good work. I have been there for minor work which was done just fine but its too far a drive from Miami. On the 2~3 times I have been there they were installing Vintage Air on vettes.

I have had Vintage air on both my vettes and it works grreat.

Thanks bud. Just spoke with Zen and he sounds like a good guy.

i have an excellent mechanic who is very familiar with vintage air installs. he just got done building a cobra daytona coupe with vintage air for one of his customers. he is an ex SCCA racer and has a great reputation among local folks. he is the one who built my 383 stroker and is working on my 78 restoration (complete mechanical restoration). he is located in west park (the south part of hollywood, just south of pembroke road and just west of I 95). if you want more info please PM me. BTW the recommendation of gold coast is also right on. zen and his folks know their stuff (and they aren't afraid to charge for it, but you will get quality work from their shop also)

This was just done on the 70. I believe it took 3-4 days. It's pretty involved. For some insight go to my thread "Update on my 70" thread. There's lots of pics of the install.

In another thread on Vintage Air units for our cars, a VA engineer mentioned that installers he has talked to say about 25 hours. You can get hourly labor rates and do the math. I did my own install, and it is definitely tricky. If you prefer to pay someone to install it, I think you should listen to the folks in this thread who have recommended shops. Better to pay a few extra dollars and have it right than to take the lowest bidder and end up paying it all again later to make it right.
