Default Too hot by my feet!!!

I just put the insulation with the shield protection beneath the new carpeting in my 1968 convertable 327/300 and it still is way to hot by my feet and passaanger's feet. Anyone have any suggestions because it almost makes it that I just don't want to drive the car AND I love my car. It feels as though hot air is actually blowing by the feet area.

Thanks' in adavance guys...

Consider putting an inline block valve to the heater core. It really helped on my car. A search on the forum will have a bunch of posts on how to do this.

That's because there is....

Hot coolant is always flowing through the heater core. The reason for the problem your experiencing is usually the heater mixing door is stuck open or the seal around the door is bad allowing heated air into the cockpit.

There are any number of fixes folks have tried....one popular fix is to install a cutoff valve inline to the heater core....if you were to have your HVAC system properly sorted the C3 corvette is very comfortable to drive in warm/hot weather.

Try a search on cockpit heat.

You can put a water valve in the hether hose and your feet will say thank you !!!

You can check too the control vacuum switch .

Do a search on the forum and you'll find some great advice about your problem.

Until you do what the others suggest, just shove a rag up there to block the vent.

Is the exhaust pipe position like the factory ran it? If the replacment pipes were run directly under the footwell, it could get very hot in there. Compare what your look like to the AIM drawings.
