Owner's manual will have a chart of the correct bulbs. You can probably get them over the counter at any generic auto parts place or well stocked hardware store.

do you have to take off steering wheel to get the dash console out? I have a '78 and am debating about replacing bulbs as 2 are dead.

Replace them all - see my bulb thread from yesterday.

All the vendors sell a "bulb kit" that's 95% acurate - LOL

You have to unbolt the steering column and pull it down a bit to get that panel out easily. Wheel can stay on.

You can change the bulbs on your back with a flashlight - if you're too big, find a skinny guy.

-W ( lost 50+lbs as part of this project )

Best to drop the steering column for more room to remove dash. The speedometer cable can be a little difficult, I pulled some slack from the engine side of the firewall.Wires are color coded and the back of the speedo and tach are labeled with the color. However the label may be hard to read so it's best to make a diagram what wire went in which position for reassembly....Good Luck....

LED's are the way to go. You don't want to do this job ever again!
