CARLISLE 2011 first day pics
And depending on how scared folks are about beating feet away from hurricane Irene, this might be the only day of this event. BTW, only one gent, Roy, identified himself at the noon picnic area meet-up. And nobody took a CorvetteForum group pic on the stage at 12:30PM. I don't know why. Although I suppose it could have been some kind of meteorological problem...that's the reason FEDEX gave for not delivering a package to my home...and as far as I know, it was a bluebird day there as well as Carlisle. So, on with the show........
First, the 'barn finds' display:
Now some random pics of just about anything I felt drawn to:
A few if the 50th year anniversary 1961's:

Hi C69,
That 58 would have been a perfect 'candidate' for the custom front end that had a 'snout' (I don't know how else to describe it), on it that was popular in the 60's. It had a sort of a 50's Ferrari grill, quad lights, and no (or very small) bumpers.
Interesting pictures.
Regards,
Alan

This is easily the best looking 70s' custom paint job I've ever seen...and I normally hate those horrible examples of pot induced art That 69 looks GREAT.

One of these yrs I'm going to make a swing out east for a few of these shows. For now, I only get to look at pictures. Thanks for sharing. BTW, I would love to own that dirty 60.

I had to bail on it this year also. I was busy at 6AM this morning pulling my boat and battening down the hatches on our beach house at the Jersey shore. They are closing the GSP from exit 98 south and rt 72 eastbound. Hopefully it continues to lose strength and head out to sea a little. Pictures look good from Carlisle, wish I could have been there.

Perspective is everything I suppose. My son and I were at the picnic area at about 11:50 and asked every group we saw if they were from Corvette Forum C3, no takers. I called Rafal, and cell-phone/voice guided him to the picnic area with his friend such that we had a group of 4, and we were purposely being not-quiet about who we were and what we were there for. We contacted "All C3 for Me" by phone and discussed the lack of attendance at the noon picnic area C3 meeting, and decided to try to re-form at the stage for the general 12:30 Corvette Forum picture at the stage. Now a group of 4, we met several members of the forum, including Nowhere Man, 73LS1, Roy69, 70BBvert and some others, but didn't find a bigger group. Well, we tried....

Thanks for the pictures. Please keep them coming. Add me to the list that the storm is going to prevent from being able to attend. Wish I could be there also.

Keep the pics coming. The latest weather projection has the eye of the storm going right over my house (Nassau, Long Island) and I am being ordered to work tomorrow night through Sunday. I'll check in when I can.

Where in LI are you? My parents are in Manhasset and have lots of old big old trees that probably will cause some damage. My cousins are in Long Beach and are evacuating. Be safe.
