I know this thread is old (2011) and I just came across it by luck, searching the web for Pictures of Baldwin MotionCovettes, but this is one of the most interesting and impressing stories to me I have read on here so far... WOW!!

Very interesting. I had a pretty good job back in the same timeframe but could never have swung paying for a car like that. The original owner sound like an amazing man. His service to our country and excellent taste in cars should be admired and remembered. Thanks for posting this so many can know of and remember this man!

I followed this thread closely when it was active. I was still building my cars at the time and really love that car and the story behind it. It turns out it is about an hour from here. I talked to the OP and he invited me over to drive it. I declined and he said, "its just a damn car".
I lost contact with him a while back and never got over to at least see the car.
