1978 Pace Car real barn find with 13 miles.
Hey all !! I just had to share this one with you all. It just goes to show that they are still out there. This is one we drug home last week from the garage of the original owner. He bought it new, parked it and never messed with it again. We actually had to dig it out of his garage. You couldn't even walk around it. 13 miles on it. Window sticker still on it. L82 automatic with gymkhana and CB.
It is an amazing car. Although it's filthy dirty, it was very well preserved. Never touched. It's in the wrapper and still even has the original battery in it.
I sold it to a friend of mine but am displaying it in the showroom until the transport picks it up.
If anybody is in the area, I'd be glad to let you see it !!

That is so cool!
You need to leave the dust alone and hopefully you have a lot of pictures from the barn and the original owner.
I would ask for copies of all the pictures he ever took with the car in it.
It would be cool to take all the pictures and put them together to make a time lapse video.

Why not write up the story and submit to The Restorer? It would make a heckuva lot more entertaining reading than LS swaps into a 69.

It still amazes me why people do this. financially unless he quadruppled his sticker price, as an investment (which many of these guys saw this type of action), this makes no sense.
PLUS he's forgone 3+ decades of driving enjoyment..............

My uncle in Georgia bought a 78 SA and had it delivered to his tire shop right off the truck.
He had a special room built around the car. He sold it a couple years ago with 3.9 miles, nuts , just nuts.

Someone posted this earlier while it was still on a rollback. Rinse it off and park it in a museum. It'll need too much work to drive it.

..I wonder how much of a deduction the "dust" were to be at an NCRS meet or Bloomington???
...of course the "dust" on the windshield would get cleaned off in the "Ops" check of the wipers and washer fluid squirters(providing they worked)
...I've judged a good few super low mile cars, one a '78 SA with 4.3mi on it.
....they all had one thing in common...
....the puddles of brake fluid on the ground just inside the tires.

great find. it would be neat to see the pictures of it in it's original "resting" place and what you had to do to get it out.

Why would an owner do something like that? It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever on about fourteen different levels.
Wonder if the exhaust system is rusted? I'd bet every gasket in the thing, every rubber hose, ever tube, possibly even the brake lines...all would be absolutely rotten..tires, obviously. Anything with grease on it...wouldn't the grease be stiff by now and worthless? Far cry from silicon greases in those days I'd guess.
It would be very possible to restore it if the miles are true but it would be a labor of love. Better to start with this than a rust bucket frame and shot everything plus all of the above.
What a waste to sit it under dust and bird **** for 33 years.
Did the owner park it then go into a mental institution and his family just sold it after he passed?
