1975 Windshield Wiper Problems
I have a 1975 Vette with windshield wiper problems. I installed a new wiper switch and now to get the wipers to work I have to hold down the switch and the wipers only go half way up the glass. Help !

Did the switch look new? can you do an ohms test on the old switch compared to new switch the switch really is just on and off and washer spray, it sounds more like a relay/ mechanical in the motor it sounds like the motor /start and stop limits are messed up. if both switches do the same thing on the ohms test its in the timing of the start stop on the motor.
Someone will have worked on it before, and can help you more. My 75 the wipers work Ive used them once in five Years.

I had that area apart on mine many years ago and tested the wipers before putting it fully back together. Had a problem similar to yours which technically wasn't a problem....turned out one of the mounting screws acted as a ground.
Without the screw firmly tightened the wipers would only start by pushing in for the washer function.
Check your grounds!

Go to this link.. http://willcoxcorvette.com/repairand...elp.php?hID=95
And on page 5 or 6 you'll see a picture of the switch with the connector. Make sure you installed the connector on the switch the correct way.. it will go on both ways..
What my question to you is.. why did you replace the switch?
