Carb stud induced paint crack - how to fill ?
On the hood, under the carb stud is now a spot that the paint cracked and is separating. I'd like to fill it in and paint it.
But what do I fill it with? Paint drys out flat and shows the hole. I'd like to get it filled in, then sand and paint it and color sand, etc.
Thanks.

Yea, pictures are best... will try tonight.
But it is simple. Paint in the center of the hood is chipping off the hood.
What do I apply to serve as a base for the paint ?

First, replace the over long stud with one of the correct length.
Second, scuff sand the mark, shoot some rattle can primer over it, then semi-flat black.

Here's what the paint crack looks like:

I'm worried that just spraying primer + top coat will not be thick enough to match
the existing paint level.

Yeah it's gonna need more than a buffer that's for sure. If u can afford it, I'd take it to a pro. If not, than I'd visit the body and paint forum for advice.
